FAQs

GENERAL
What happens to users I report for violations of community standards?

The CampusGigs Team (Daryl, Vy, and Jas) will review the report and investigate if necessary. If urgent, please email hello@getcampusgigs.com for immediate support. Users found to have violated standards will be banned from the app.

How can I validate that people aren’t making fake profiles?

Each account is limited to one SUID. Check to see that the name they have listed matches with the SUID on their profile.

Can I block a user?

We’re working on developing this feature. In the meantime, we ask that you report users when necessary.

How does payment work?

For now, our suggested payment method is to send money via Venmo after the gigster has completed your gig post.

Can I both post & do gigs?

Yes! You can complete gigs for other students and also publish your own gigs.

What kind of gigs can I post?

Any gigs you can think of! We've compiled a list of example gigs here

GIGSTERS
Will CampusGigs withhold taxes for me as a Gigster?

Given that we are a platform for transactions but do not actually employ/contract any Gigsters, we do not withhold taxes for you— you will need to do that independently.

What if I want to be paid a higher price than the gig is listed for?

Message the Requester and ask them if they can repost the gig at your price! Feel free to negotiate in the chat.

What if I complete my gig well and the Gig Requester doesn’t pay me (the Gigster)?

Please contact hello@getcampusgigs.com ASAP. One of our team members will get in contact with you within 48 hours to investigate the situation. If we find that there has been an unfair lack of compensation, our company will pay you for your gig completion.

REQUESTERS
Why can't I edit posts?

We want to ensure that no Gigster agrees to complete a gig and has a Requester change the details of the gig or the pricing of the gig without the Gigsters knowledge. For this reason, if you want to edit a post, you must delete and repost.

How can I trust the credibility of a gigster?

If you click the Gigsters profile, you can see the number of each gig type they’ve completed! Beyond that, you can ask them in the messaging option.

What if I need more than one person to complete my gig?

We’re working on developing this feature. In the meantime, we ask that you post multiple times to temporarily work around this issue.

What if I’m flexible about when the gig can be done by?

We’re working on developing this feature. Please feel free to indicate this in the gig description or by messaging the Gigster.
